The dietitian reported that white and black bread contain higher quality flour, which makes the pastries fragrant and tasty, but almost deprives them of their benefits. Such products lose almost all useful substances, including vitamins, trace elements and vegetable fiber.
Black bread, which many consider dietary, is actually not so. Regular consumption of such pastries and in large quantities can lead to increased blood sugar levels and weight gain. Elderly people should be especially careful with the use of bakery products, whose metabolism slows down and energy is not spent as quickly as before.
To avoid health problems and not gain extra pounds, a dietitian advises eating multigrain bread. The cereals contained in this type of pastry are rich in a large number of useful substances, and also give a feeling of satiety for a long time. This allows you to improve the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, avoid “snacks”, as well as weight gain. The specialist recommends eating 4 pieces of healthy bread a day, avoiding overeating and giving up pastries before bedtime, replacing them with a protein omelet or low-fat dairy products.
