Risk of suffering from a blockage artery thrombus is increased if a person is the owner of the third blood group.
The journal Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology published the results of a study, the authors of which established that a person's blood group affects his susceptibility to thrombosis. Scientists state that the third blood group is associated with a greater risk of suffering from blood clots.
According to the research data, “owners of the third blood group have a 45% higher risk of thrombosis compared to people with the first blood group ยป.
Also, the third blood type was associated with a more serious predisposition to deep vein thrombosis, which usually affects the legs.
As for the second blood type, its owners are more prone to thrombosis, than people from the first.
A thrombus is a blood clot that forms on the wall of a vessel. If it breaks off, then with the blood flow, such a clot can be carried into the lungs, where it can cause a pulmonary embolism – a potentially fatal condition for a person.
