A recipe for pickled pepper for the winter with honey
3
Have you tried replacing sugar with honey when marinating peppers? Sugar is usually added in almost all recipes for pickling vegetables. This is so that, in combination with vinegar, you get a delicious sweet and sour filling. And if you replace sugar with honey? I did it – and I advise you. Prepare Bulgarian pepper in honey sauce.
For this recipe, it is better to use red pepper, but yellow and white are also good.
Ingredients:
- Bulgarian pepper – 2 kg
- Honey – 150 g
- Oil – 100 ml
- Salt – 20 g
- Vinegar – 100 ml
- Garlic – 2 heads
- Black pepper with peas – 10 pcs.
- Allspice – 6 pcs.
- Bay leaves – 2-3 pcs. .

In a pan with a thick bottom or a cauldron, clean and cut the pepper into slices. Add honey, oil, salt and cook for 15-20 minutes after boiling over low heat. After that, pour vinegar, chopped garlic, black and fragrant pepper, bay leaf and let it boil for another 5-7 minutes.
Lay into sterile, hot half-liter jars and fill with marinade. We twist with metal lids, cool. The output is 5 jars. Such pepper in honey filling is much tastier than with sugar!
