This method is also known as “relaxed breathing”, the specialist clarified. According to the technique, it is necessary to slowly inhale through the nose for four seconds, then hold the breath for seven seconds and slowly exhale for eight seconds. The sequence should be repeated until you fall asleep.
As Weil noted, rhythmic and deep breathing is practiced during meditation by Indian yogis. And it not only helps to get rid of insomnia, but also to cope with stress. “This is the best method for getting back to sleep if you wake up in the middle of the night,” the expert added.
