A simple exercise can reduce the risk of cancer by a third

The habit of maintaining a certain level of physical activity can reduce the risk of developing cancer by 38 percent, claims the well-known British physician Dr. Michael Mosley.
The doctor wrote an article in which he noted that many cancers have become “younger.” According to Dr. Mosley, cancer is usually thought of as an “age-related” disease, but a new study by Brigham and Women's Hospital in the US has found a sharp rise worldwide in breast, colon, esophageal, kidney, liver and pancreatic cancers in people under the age of 50 years old.
Researchers believe that lack of sleep, an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, and the use of ultra-processed foods contribute to obesity, which is one of the key reasons for this surge, the doctor said.
In turn, he said, a fairly simple but effective way to prevent cancer is an active lifestyle, including gymnastics and sports.
Dr. Mosley appealed to a recent study by the University of Bristol, in which more than 131 thousand women participated.
“Scientists have found that performing some form of active activity three or more days a week was associated with a 38 percent reduction in the risk of developing breast cancer,” the doctor shared.
The specialist specified that physical activity and exercise help reduce chronic inflammation and strengthen the immune system.
“The study showed that increasing physical activity while limiting sitting time can seriously reduce the chances of developing cancer,” the expert concluded.
In turn, the American Cancer Society postulates that physical activity not only reduces the risk of breast cancer. Regular physical activity is also associated with a lower risk of several types of cancer, including breast, prostate, colon, endometrial, and possibly pancreatic cancer.
