Maintaining health, especially in adulthood, requires a comprehensive approach, one of the important elements of which is physical activity. Scientists have found that even a short walk after a meal helps control blood sugar levels, protecting against the development of type 2 diabetes.
Specialists from the University of Limerick (Ireland) analyzed the results of seven different studies on diabetes – risk factors that increase the likelihood of developing this disease, and habits that protect against unwanted changes. It turned out that studies confirm the positive effect of regular walks after meals.
Scientists have found that a walk after a meal, even a short one, helps normalize blood sugar levels. This effect is much more pronounced if a person goes for a walk after a meal than before it.
