A simple recipe for making kefir pies

Kefir pies are one of the fastest and easiest ways to make homemade pastries. Their tender dough is suitable for sweet and savory fillings, and kefir gives it lightness and a pleasant texture.

Did you know that kefir, thanks to its fermented properties, helps the dough rise faster, giving the pastries a delicate taste?

Ingredients:

  • 500 ml of kefir
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of soda
  • 800 g of flour
  • 3 tablespoons of oil

Mix the kefir with soda and let it stand for a few minutes to activate the soda. Add the eggs, salt, sugar and oil, mix everything thoroughly. Gradually add the flour, kneading a soft, elastic dough. Leave it under a towel for 20 minutes to rest.

While the dough is resting, prepare the filling of your choice: potatoes, cabbage, cheese or meat. Divide the dough into small balls, roll each one out and put the filling in. Seal the edges and form the patties.

Fry the patties in a pan with heated oil until golden brown on both sides or bake in the oven at 180°C for about 25 minutes.
