A simple way to reduce dry eyes has been found

Dry eyes can be caused by a number of reasons. This condition can also be influenced by such factors as a sedentary lifestyle or frequent and prolonged use of the computer. In such cases, when we are not talking about serious changes and disorders, there is a simple way to reduce dry eyes and the discomfort caused by it.
A team of scientists from Ghana and Hong Kong conducted an experiment: the researchers studied what effect physical activity on the condition of the eyes. The study involved 52 young people aged 18-25, both men and women, none of whom had dry eye syndrome. Some of them played sports, some did not.
All of them underwent a session of aerobic exercises using a treadmill with maximum load. Scientists evaluated tear secretion, stability of the tear film, visual acuity and a number of other parameters. As the study showed, tear secretion improved in both groups. Also, positive changes were noted regarding tear film break-up time – a test for it is usually used for research and monitoring of dry eye syndrome.
Results in the group of athletes were better, but positive changes were also noted in those who did not play sports. Thus, scientists conclude, physical activity in the form of aerobic exercises can be important for improving tear fluid function.
