The benefits of using mushrooms are studied in more detail by scientists from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst (USA) under the guidance of nutritionist, associate professor of the School of Public Health and Medical Sciences Zhenhua Liu.
The expert advises adding mushrooms to the diet, writes EurekAlert. The nutritionist notes: these mushrooms have a unique dietary composition and are rich in numerous nutrients that are lacking in the Western-type diet. These include, first of all, dietary fiber and vitamin D.
“It is an ideal supplement to improve the quality of the “Western diet” with the added benefit of improving the overall condition of the intestines, Liu explains. – Intestinal dysfunction is considered one of the main mechanisms that significantly contribute to the development of diseases associated with such a diet.”
