The fair sex need not dream of punishment housewives. The study showed that working women have a stronger memory in old age.
The more time women devote to work, the stronger their memory in old age, when the risk of developing serious age-related disorders is so high. Science knows well that education has a positive effect on thinking processes as we age, and daily activity enhances these processes with age. Now research has shown that even without taking into account the level of education, constant work already has a positive effect on the functionality of the female brain. The study was conducted by scientists from the Cleveland Clinic.
More than 6,000 women aged 16 to 55 took part in it. They were followed for an average of 12 years, with memory being assessed every two years. The results showed that after the age of 60, housewives' memory began to deteriorate 50% faster than women who worked. Specialists in the field of the female brain believe that this is a consequence of constant activity and the tasks that working women face every day. Their decision has a positive effect on the preservation of memory mechanisms.
And it did not matter much when it was women who solved any serious tasks – at a young age or after starting work after 30 and 40 years. In other words, it's never too late for a woman to start working to strengthen her brain as she ages. And this strengthening can be a good prevention of senile dementia.
