A symptom on the hands will indicate a deficiency of vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is an important nutrient , which supports the normal functioning of all body systems. The most well-known symptoms of its deficiency include fatigue, low mood and nervous disorders. However, there are a few early signs on the hands that many often miss.
As doctors explained, B12 plays an important role in the production of red blood cells and maintaining nerve health. Complications that can result from these two conditions include loss of coordination and cardiovascular disease.
Tsingling in the hands or feet that occurs as a result of nerve damage is often the first symptom of vitamin deficiency. The fact is that in the nervous system, B12 helps produce a substance called myelin.
“Myelin is a protective coating that wraps around nerves and helps them transmit impulses. People with vitamin B12 deficiency may not have enough myelin, without which nerves can be damaged. Problems often arise in the limbs, the nerves of which are called peripheral,” the doctors explained.
Sometimes the tingling can manifest itself as a sharp stabbing pain in the palm of one or both hands. As a rule, the condition appears suddenly and for no apparent reason – most often under the ring finger.
If the B12 deficiency is not treated, the tingling will begin to “rise” along the outer edge of the hand, starting from the wrist. The pain occurs when the wrist is bent back.
To prevent vitamin deficiency, it is important to eat certain foods regularly. These include red meat, poultry, eggs, dairy products and fish.
