A way to completely stop HIV transmission has been found

A large-scale multi-year study has confirmed that antiretroviral therapy completely suppresses HIV transmission.
It involved up to a thousand homosexual couples, where only one partner was an HIV carrier and took antiretroviral drugs.
Over eight years of observation, not a single case of virus transmission between the participants in the experiment was recorded. 15 men became infected as a result of unprotected sex with people who were not taking antiretroviral therapy.
“The results of our study provide comprehensive evidence that for homosexual men, the risk of HIV transmission during antiretroviral therapy is zero,” said Professor Alison Rogers from University College London, who participated in the leadership of the experiment.
