A weakened heart: changes in the body that may indicate a problem
0
The heart can weaken with age, and some changes in the body can indicate this problem, so if you notice them, you should talk to a cardiologist.
If you notice that your breathing is getting heavier and more frequent even when insignificant physical exertion, consult a doctor – this symptom is one of the most indicative signals that there are problems with the heart.
The following five signs of a weakened or sick heart should also be ignored – they manifest themselves in the form of certain changes with the body.
Swelling of ankles and feet.Swollen ankles and feet can be an early sign of heart failure. This happens because the supply of blood waiting to enter the heart stagnates due to its poor work and leads to an increase in pressure in the veins. As the pressure in the veins increases, fluid is forced into the tissues, which contributes to swelling.
Pain in the jaw and neck.Doctors themselves say that most people know their body better than any specialist. If there is a feeling that there have been changes in the condition and the body is functioning unusually, you should contact a doctor. For example, you may experience pain that starts to radiate from your chest to your jaw and neck.
Erectile dysfunction. Men should remember: a problem with blood vessels in one area of the body is often associated with blood circulation problems in another area. “Misfires” in bed often occur as a result of a weakened heart muscle.
Fatigue. Everyone gets tired, but if your fatigue persists, don't ignore it. Let's say you used to be able to easily walk up a couple of flights of stairs, but now you can barely walk up one. That is, a worrying sign is the loss of physical ability to cope with the usual load or work.
Unhealthy gums and teeth. Research shows that in this case the risk of dangerous inflammation increases, which, in turn, increases susceptibility to heart attacks, stroke. Bacteria that live in our mouths can enter the bloodstream, then into the heart and directly infect vulnerable heart valves.
