Addiction to a smartphone is connected to the search for the meaning of life

Scientists from Campbell University in the USA came to a surprising conclusion. Particularly strong dependence on the smartphone turned out to be related to the search for the meaning of life.

American researchers surveyed more than one and a half thousand people, and this work showed that the more meaningful life is, the less often people reach for the smartphone, sciencedirect.< /p>

But if this does not make sense, and a person does not really understand what he should do in the future, how to live, and with whom to build relationships, then he more often reaches for a mobile device.

At first glance, the findings of this study seem somewhat surprising, since the vast majority of people today have smartphones, and many use them very actively. But it turns out that for someone a smartphone is a necessary tool, and for someone it is a substitute for human passions.

Dependence on a smartphone is a well-known phenomenon to psychologists and psychiatrists. Today, if a young person is taken away from a smartphone for one or two days, it will be possible to encounter clear signs of breakage, including anxiety, depressive symptoms and increased stress.

The authors of the study proved that the more sense there is in a person's life, the less he depends on a smartphone. Therefore, we need to strive to make life more meaningful, because there is nothing good or useful in this very addiction.
