Mammologist: most often after 40 years of age, women are diagnosed with fibrolipomas in their breasts.
In an interview with a mammologist, a warning was sounded that after the age of 40, women become more prone to breast tumors. According to the doctor, this feature of the female body is caused by changes that occur in it due to the approaching menopause.
“Mammary gland diseases appear in women at any age, but after 40 years the probability of breast tumors is higher,” the doctor said.
The specialist noted that in most cases these formations are benign – the so-called fibrolipomas of the breast. Such tumors tend to develop asymptomatically for a long time, but when they grow and increase, they can deform the breast tissue or be felt during palpation, causing soreness.
In addition, women aged 40+ have an increased risk of leaf-shaped tumors in the breast. Their development is also accompanied by pain in the mammary glands, in addition to this – thinning of the epidermis. Such tumors can degenerate into malignant ones.
“In order to prevent the development of any mammological pathology, it is important to undergo regular examinations: to have a mammogram every year, to regularly conduct breast self-examinations,” the mammologist emphasized.
