Don't miss planting winter onions. Do everything according to the advice of experienced agronomists, then the harvest will be incredibly pleasing to you. You may not have guessed that a lot depends on the size of the planting site in terms of crop quality. Read more about this later in the article.
Agronomist's advice
For winter onions, carefully choose a planting site. Do you think you need to take a large one? Not at all. Agronomists said that onion seeds should be up to 0.5 cm in size.
Seeds with a larger diameter should not be planted. Such ones will sprout much faster during germination. This will be the reason why a large bulb is not formed.
Prepare the bed for winter onions correctly. Dig it up together with humus or compost. The consumption is 10 kg per 1 sq.m. This will help make the soil loose and light. You can add an autumn mineral complex to the furrows.
Spread the seeds in the prepared furrows. Follow the requirements for the distance between the bulbs, so that it is at least 5-7 cm. Make the row spacing 15-20 cm. This will be enough for the bulbs to develop.
When you fill the furrows with soil, mulch with peat and straw or plant residues. In the spring you will be able to harvest an excellent harvest. The bulbs will be large and beautiful.
