A narcologist reported a high risk of a painless heart attack when drinking alcohol in old age.
In an interview, a narcologist listed the health problems that can arise when drinking alcohol in the elderly. The doctor noted that in elderly people, uncontrolled consumption of alcohol can contribute to dehydration.
This effect is associated with the occurrence of another problem – osteoporosis, in which the density of bone tissue decreases and the bones become brittle. Thus, elderly people who drink regularly are at risk of falling, in which a fracture of the neck of the femur occurs.
Also, a narcologist spoke about the increased vulnerability of the cardiovascular system due to people's addiction to alcohol.
“Alcohol consumption by the elderly can also cause painless myocardial infarctions, arterial hypertension, heart rhythm disorders,” warned a doctor in conversation.
