Alcohol leads to a rapid decrease in vision – the doctor gave recommendations on how to resist this

Sight can be impaired by actions that seem innocent. The poignant phrase “you don't know what you've lost until you've lost it” applies to many aspects of life. This takes on particular resonance when it comes to vision loss.
While age affects eye health, what you put into your body can also have an impact. Alcohol is destructive.
Alcohol – in large quantities – can damage your eye health as well as other parts of your body. People who drink too much alcohol can develop degeneration of the optic nerve, which can affect vision—sometimes very seriously and permanently.
As the doctor explains, the mechanisms are “complex but may involve direct toxicity, depletion of nutrients especially B vitamins with poor diet associated with high alcohol consumption.”
The warning is a wake-up call for people who abuse alcohol.
What can improve your vision?
When choosing food and drink, consider certain nutrients that are truly vital to your eye health. In fact, the trick is to stick to the traffic light diet.
The doctor recommended the following foods to improve vision:
- Sweet peppers
- Strawberries
- Green leafy vegetables
- Berries
- Red meat (in moderation)
- Carrots
- Oranges
- Apricots
- Cabbage
- Avocado
