American doctors have found out which types of cancer threaten today's youth

Doctors note a sad trend – cancer is diagnosed more often in young people. Moreover, many types of cancer that affect young people are associated with obesity.

Although the risk of cancer still increases with age, there is now a marked trend of “rejuvenation” of cancer – diagnoses that previously only people had of older age, young people are increasingly being put.

The American Cancer Society published the results of its study on cancer incidence in the Lancet Public Health journal. According to scientists, the frequency of cancer cases in people aged 25 to 49 years has increased significantly. Oncological diseases associated with obesity are especially often diagnosed in this age group. By the way, the spread of obesity worries doctors no less than cancer cases, which have become more frequent.

The highest risk in the age group from 25 to 49 years was for the following types of cancer: colon cancer, endometrial cancer, gallbladder cancer, kidney cancer, cancer pancreas, multiple myeloma. As the authors of the work explained, excess weight is the cause of 60% of endometrial cancer cases, 36% of gallbladder cancer cases, 33% of kidney cancer cases, 17% of pancreatic cancer cases and 11% of multiple myeloma cases.

Also noted high the incidence of stomach cancer and leukemia, which are not associated with obesity.
