Short ten-minute workouts bring as much benefit to the body as full-fledged sports, according to nutritionist Michael Mosley.
Mosley advised doing three workouts a day, ten minutes each. In his opinion, this method makes it easy to accustom yourself to sports and not give up after a while. “The amazing thing about short workouts is that they provide the same, and perhaps even greater, benefits for your figure and health as a full 30-minute workout,” the nutritionist is sure.
Sports doctor Marie Murphy also positively assessed the benefits of short workouts. According to her, they speed up metabolism, help you lose weight, normalize glucose levels and blood pressure. “Regular workouts bring the same benefits. Fractional workouts allow you to activate your metabolism several times a day, which makes their health benefits more noticeable,” Murphy added. She called it a good practice to arrange sports breaks of five to ten minutes during the workday.
Fitness trainer Afton McKeith added that you don’t need to do the same exercises throughout the day. She suggested that instead of the usual squats and inclines, sometimes climb the stairs or walk more often. “Quick fitness classes are a great way to get the benefits of exercise without tiring yourself out or compromising your fitness,” McKeith said.
