An “unusual” feeling in the hands was called a sign of high cholesterol
Cholesterol is a “waxy” fatty substance that is produced in the liver. It is vital for the formation of cell membranes, vitamin D and some hormones. However, too much cholesterol in the blood has a negative effect on the body and can lead to a heart attack or stroke.
The main problem is that this condition does not make itself felt until a serious complication occurs. But doctors assure that there are several first alarming symptoms that you should pay attention to. One of them is an unusual painful feeling in the hands.
“Symptoms of high cholesterol level include pain in the hands, which is caused by the accumulation of this substance that clogs the blood vessels of the extremities,” the doctors explained.
In addition, impaired blood circulation in certain parts of the body due to cholesterol plaques causes a tingling sensation in the hands. As the doctors clarified, this is due to the fact that with high cholesterol, the blood becomes thicker, as a result of which the nerves do not receive the required amount of oxygen and nutrients.
