A recent review and meta-analysis of 40 clinical studies confirmed that the Mediterranean diet is the best and most beneficial. Scientists studied the effects of 6 different diets on the heart and blood vessels. The observations lasted for 5 years, during which it was established that patients who followed the Mediterranean diet had a significantly lower incidence of stroke and heart attack.

The doctor recalled that the basis of such a diet is the rule of avoiding processed and fried meat. Protein should be part of the diet, but it should be lean meats and fish, grilled or baked in the oven.

Vegetable protein, found in natural foods such as vegetables and fruits, also plays an important role.

The Mediterranean diet also helps reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
