According to the results of a new study, regular physical exercise at the age of 40+ helps keep the body in shape and protects against hospitalization.
Scientists recently found that of almost 82,000 British adults aged 42 to 78, those who regularly exercise are less likely to be hospitalized in the coming years due to illnesses. These diseases include stroke, pneumonia, complications of diabetes, and severe urinary tract infections.
According to the data obtained, if middle-aged and elderly people added just 20 minutes of cardio per day, they could reduce their risk of hospitalization over seven years by 4-23%.
