Autumn processing of gooseberries from powdery mildew: whoever misses it, loses the harvest
1
Among the berry bushes, gooseberries and black currants suffer the most from powdery mildew. This is a dangerous fungal disease that, when infected, quickly manifests itself on young leaves in the spring, and then attacks the berries.
Why it is necessary to process in autumn
Fungal spores tolerate cold and frost well. Untreated bushes from autumn remain carriers of powdery mildew. With the appearance of the first spring heat, it begins to develop, multiply and infect everything it can reach.
You can understand that a plant is infected not only by the presence of a specific plaque. The leaf plate is deformed, the shoots become crooked, and the ovaries fall from the plant.
How to process
In the autumn period, when the gooseberry leaves have already fallen, it is necessary to process with copper sulfate. To do this, you need to dissolve 100 g of the agent in 10 liters of hot water. Spray thoroughly all shoots and a little ground near the bush. This treatment will destroy the spores of powdery mildew, so the gooseberry will be healthy in the winter, and next year it will be able to develop, grow and give birth to delicious berries.
