Aversion to these four foods can be a harbinger of cancer

There is evidence that that cancer can cause aversion to food. Early studies found that several types of cancer develop strong hostility to four foods. Moreover, one in four patients reported changes in taste.

The oncologist said that bitter, sweet or salty foods may taste different than before.

“Changes in taste can lead to loss appetite and weight loss. This can cause a strong aversion to certain foods, also called food aversion.”

Aversion can be a manifestation of several forms of cancer. The scientists came to this conclusion after conducting large-scale studies, including a detailed survey of thousands of patients.

“For two men with lung cancer, sausages became unpleasant (one said two years before the diagnosis, the other three years. In while for one they lost their flavor and tasted like leather, for another they became too aromatic”) Two women with cervical cancer had a particular aversion to eggs (one six years before diagnosis, the other four months before )”.

However, normal enjoyment of eggs returned several months after treatment, the oncologist notes.

Finally, during the study, there were frequent reports that the taste of the tea became “most unpleasant” .

Taste changes are usually caused by tumors growing in the head and neck, but there are exceptions.

Taste changes can be an “early warning sign” of tumor cell invasion in patients.
