Aspiration increasing life expectancy and delaying biological aging has long attracted Western society. But many researchers believe that nature has already given us the answers to these questions. A recent study found that eating a diet with an emphasis on the right nutrients can turn back the biological clock by more than three years.
Foods such as leafy greens, berries, and family vegetables have been found to cause changes in DNA. cruciferous vegetables, can help reverse ageing.
According to the NHS, research has shown that the products target epigenetic processes and increase lifespan.
“As far as we know, this is the first randomized controlled trial a study suggesting that certain dietary and lifestyle interventions can reverse epigenetic aging in healthy adult men.”
For the study, participants were introduced to an eight-week program that included diet, sleep, exercise, supplemental probiotics and phytonutrients, as well as relaxation tips. A control sample did not receive any intervention.
The results showed that diet and lifestyle were associated with three-year and eight-week changes in participants' body clocks.
Lead author of the study, Cara Fitzgerald, noted :
“The combined intervention program was designed to affect a specific biological mechanism called DNA methylation, and specifically DNA methylation patterns that have been found to significantly predict biological age.”
