“By default” is a tracing paper: the expert explained how to speak Ukrainian correctly

In the Ukrainian language, there are correct counterparts to common Russianisms, which many still use due to ignorance. Leading experts explain how to speak competently.

The famous Ukrainian linguist Oleksandr Avramenko on the TV channel “1+1” drew attention to a common language mistake that Ukrainians make. This is a wrong translation of the Russian expression “by default”, which is often translated as “by default”.

“With the development of digital technologies, new words to denote new concepts appear in our language. One of these is “by default”. How many Ukrainians have learned from English through the Russian translation “by default”, – explains the expert.

How to say “by default” in Ukrainian
