Can cookware made of aluminum, copper, ceramic, cast iron or stainless steel be harmful to your health?

When buying new cookware, you have a fairly large choice of materials. These include copper, cast iron, stainless steel and many others. But all of them are, by and large, safe.

You need to choose the material from which the cookware is made, based on what you are cooking. And from the point of view of health effects, all the materials offered today are considered safe.

Non-stick pans are very popular. Usually, the concerns associated with them usually relate to certain chemicals. These are per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. But they are safe for two reasons: due to stability and low concentration levels.

There is an opinion that aluminum pans cause dementia. However, there is no convincing evidence of this.

Copper pans heat evenly and are good conductors of heat. In addition, most such dishes have a non-reactive stainless steel coating. This protects against copper from getting into food.

Dishes made of stainless steel, cast iron, ceramics are also a good idea. But such dishes also have certain disadvantages. This is the large weight and uneven heating of cast iron, and the ease of damage of ceramics. Additionally, nickel and other metals in cheap stainless steel pans could theoretically leach into your food. However, this is highly unlikely.
