Can the presence of cats in the house affect the development of brain diseases, scientists explained

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has released statistics that show that approximately 40 million people in the United States have a parasite called Toxoplasma gondii living in their brains.
Scientist Dan Robitzky said that the parasite can be transmitted to humans from domestic cats. Experts say that toxoplasmosis, a disease caused by a parasite, goes hand in hand with an increased risk of developing brain cancer.
However, studies do not prove a causal relationship between the presence of the parasite and the development of brain cancer. While it is assumed that these factors may be related or that one makes people more vulnerable to the other.
The British publication also writes that the parasite is usually harmless to humans, it is found in cat litter boxes. Experts recommend that pets change the filler more often and use gloves.
