Can vitamins and alcohol be used together: a cardiologist's opinion
1
It is known that alcohol and drugs are absolutely incompatible. Such a “tandem” in some cases can lead to fatal consequences. And what about the combination of alcohol and vitamins?
Ethanol distorts the effect of drugs: it can strengthen or weaken their effectiveness, potentiate unwanted side reactions.
According to cardiologist Azizhon Askarov, the body was initially conceived as a stable biological system capable of adequately reacting to pathological factors: stress, stress, infections, unhealthy environment, tobacco and alcohol. Up to about 50 years of age, the reserve of strength in people is quite stable, but it decreases over the years.
Vitamin reserves also decrease, which is easy to check with the help of tests. As a rule, this is a seasonal problem. Replenishment of vitamin deficiency can be quite long – a month or longer. Many people ask doctors: is it possible to combine a “vitamin” course with alcohol?
Ethyl alcohol contained in any alcoholic drink affects the body. In order to “neutralize” alcohol and restore the liver, a lot of B vitamins are consumed. Most of them are vitamin B1, which is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters – substances that are responsible for the conduction of nerve impulses.
With a lack of B vitamins, there may be dull, aching pains in the heart, rapid heartbeat, weakness, neuroses and so on.
According to recent research, a lack of B vitamins can lead to an increase in cravings for alcohol, especially beer. A closed circle results, when the deficiency of vitamins of the group is not restored, but increases. Another toxic effect of ethanol is an increase in blood sugar.
There are no safe doses of alcohol, and it doesn't matter what strength it is, Askarov emphasizes. You can only try to minimize the toxic effects of alcohol on the body:
- eat a nutritious and healthy diet;
- drink a sufficient amount of water;
- get full rest;
- watch your weight.

Health should be restored competently, and not in such a way as to treat one thing and cripple another. Therefore, you should not combine vitamins and alcohol, Askarov summarizes.
