Cardiologist names “side effects” of abruptly quitting smoking
0
A sudden cessation of smoking may be accompanied by some unpleasant side effects. The cardiologist provided details on this matter.
The specialist noted that many citizens smoke or drink alcohol to dull anxiety, fear, or background worry. When quitting tobacco, a person is actually left without a means of suppressing their real feelings.
There may be jumps in blood pressure and pulse, since adrenaline continues to be produced, but there is nothing to extinguish it. The doctor does not agree that a sharp cessation of smoking threatens health problems. On the contrary, after such a step, the growth of plaques in the vessels slows down, reducing the risk of having a heart attack or stroke.
Smoking itself significantly increases the likelihood of atherosclerosis, thrombosis and cancer.
To make quitting the bad habit easier, the cardiologist recommends working out the causes of anxiety first. Sessions with a psychotherapist can help with this.
