Carrot juice will help prevent several diseases at once

Vegetable and fruit juices are a tasty and healthy product that can replace drinks with artificial colors and flavors. With their help, the body receives many vitamins and trace elements in a convenient form.

Carrot juice, explains nutritionist Lizzie Strait to Healthline, is especially rich in beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. One cup of juice contains 255% of the recommended daily allowance. It is also rich in potassium and vitamins B6, C and K.

Vitamin A is essential for eye health, explains Strait. Several studies have confirmed that this substance protects the eyes from age-related diseases. Lutein and zeaxanthin, which are also rich in carrot juice, help prevent age-related macular degeneration, a disease that can lead to blindness.

The high potassium content in carrot juice helps regulate blood pressure. Some studies, the expert reports, show that regular consumption of carrot juice by patients with high cholesterol levels helps prevent cardiovascular disease.

Vitamins A and C are natural antioxidants that strengthen the immune system. Some scientists, notes Strait, believe that a deficiency in vitamin B6, which is also abundant in carrot juice, slows down the formation of lymphocytes – blood cells responsible for immunity.

Beta-carotene, which is abundant in carrot juice, helps protect the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation. Vitamin C, the expert explains, is needed, among other things, for the formation of collagen – a protein that makes the skin strong and elastic.
