Scientists say that women who eat more than three eggs a week have a lower body weight and a better lipid profile.
An inexpensive and accessible product – chicken eggs – is an excellent addition to the diet in cases where need to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight, preventing its increase. Experts found that eating more than three eggs per week was associated with the best lipid profile. This was confirmed by a study involving adult women.
The lipid profile reflects the fat content. For example. lipids – fat-like molecules that circulate in the bloodstream and are closely related to the level of cholesterol: the higher the level of lipids, the greater the concentration of cholesterol. In addition, such a profile takes into account the presence of lipoproteins – clumps of a mixture of fats and proteins, which can cause problems with high cholesterol and increase the risk of heart disease.
Scientists from the University of California concluded that chicken eggs are beneficial in the fight against the accumulation of excess body fat.
“Women with a higher egg intake had an overall better lipid profile compared to those who ate less than one egg per week. Also, they have an average lower body weight even with a higher calorie diet,” the Mirror newspaper quotes scientists.
Experts attribute the effect of chicken eggs to their high nutritional value. The product is saturated with protein, vitamins and trace elements, provides a long-lasting feeling of satiety, supports active metabolic and immune functions. The findings say that “women who regularly eat eggs generally have a better diet and are, on average, slimmer than those who don't.”
