Adult study participants consumed chili pepper for 4-12 weeks. As it turned out, the substance included in this product reduces the risk of metabolic syndrome – a complex of metabolic disorders that provokes the development of diseases of the cardiovascular system and type II diabetes.
The plant is able to reduce the amount of “bad ” cholesterol in the blood. In addition, it has a pronounced antioxidant effect.
The experiment also showed that chili pepper normalizes the sugar level in the body by reducing the inflammatory process. However, as the scientists noted, in order to confirm this useful property, it is necessary to conduct a number of other studies.
