Enthusiasts coffee, their passion for the aromatic drink protects against the development of kidney failure, this is evidenced by the results of a new study.
“Daily coffee consumption can reduce the risk of acute kidney damage,” said the authors of the new study, scientists from Johns Hopkins University.< /p>
The conclusions of scientific experts were published by the journal Kidney International Reports, in their favor are evidenced by the health check data of more than 14,000 people aged (on average) 54 years. They were followed for a total of 24 years.
Scientists analyzed the correlation between the amount of coffee people drink and their kidney health. The researchers concluded that there is an inversely proportional correlation:
A higher level of coffee consumption is associated with a lower risk of kidney damage.
In particular, coffee drinkers are better protected against the development of such a disorder, as acute kidney injury. GPP is characterized by the sudden development of kidney failure or an unexpectedly aggressive process of damage to a paired organ that occurs within hours or days. A new study found that the risk of acute kidney injury was reduced by 15% for participants who drank any amount of coffee compared to those who did not drink it. For people who drank 2-3 cups of coffee every day, the similar risk was reduced by 22-23%.
Explaining the healing effect of coffee on the kidneys, the researchers specified:
“Biologically active compounds of coffee or caffeine improve kidney oxygenation by reducing oxygen consumption by the kidneys while maintaining the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and renal plasma flow.”
