Colorectal cancer can be a “night symptom”

Cancer of the large intestine (colorectal) is characterized by bleeding, but oncologists were named the night symptom of this disease as a cough.
Representatives of the British bowel cancer organization Cancer Research UK spoke in the press with a warning about what symptoms colorectal cancer can “declare” itself. In an interview, they said that the symptoms of bowel cancer are often revealed when visiting the toilet: people notice blood in the stool or on the toilet paper. Colorectal cancer is also characterized by feelings of fatigue, weakness, and loss of appetite.
But in those cases when a malignant tumor begins to progress and spreads to the liver or lungs, other symptoms may occur. Colorectal cancer can therefore present as a 'nocturnal symptom'.
“A persistent cough that worsens at night may mean that the cancer has spread to the lungs,” Cancer Research UK said.
Specialists added that, in addition to coughing, colorectal cancer metastases in the lungs are indicated by the following disorders.
- Frequent infections of the lower respiratory tract.
- Shortness of breath.
- Blood , which is released during coughing.
- Fluid accumulated in the lungs.
