Researchers from Portugal concluded that lager is good for health intestines True, in order to obtain these benefits, it is necessary to consume no more than one mug per day.
Good news for the huge army of beer lovers. One mug of this lager drink in the evening, as researchers from the University of Lisbon found, strengthens the health of the intestines.
Thus, purely in theory, lager reduces the risk of developing diseases such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. However, the current study will not add fuel to the fire of the heated debate about the benefits or harms of alcohol to human health. The fact is that alcohol-free beer also had a beneficial effect on the body.
So, a lager with an alcohol content of 0% provides the same benefits for intestinal health as its more traditional varieties. These are the results of a study involving 19 healthy men aged 23 to 58 who drank 330ml bottles with dinner every night for a month.
About half of these drinks contained 5.2% alcohol, and the other half drank non-alcoholic beer. Both groups had relatively similar benefits in improving gut health. However, it should be added that there was no control group in this experiment.
