The only disadvantage of this option is that you cannot prepare a large batch of jam at once. But this is an ideal method for those who prepare a small amount of berries.

Ingredients:

  • fresh plums – a kilogram;
  • sugar – from 0.3 to 1 kg (depends on taste preferences and type of plums);
  • citric acid – a third of a teaspoon.

Step by step preparation

To begin with, the seeds are removed from the berries. Sour varieties of plums are ideal for jam.

Cut the berries into two parts and place them in a pan. Then sugar is immediately poured. After that, citric acid is added. It is necessary so that the jam does not become sugary and does not lose its bright color.

For jam of a normal consistency, the berries are kept on the fire for 15 minutes. To make the dish thicker, you need to cook the plums for another 10-15 minutes.

After cooking, the jam is immediately poured into sterilized jars and closed with lids.
