Just 10 minutes of introspection a day can reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease, the most common form of dementia, according to a new study.
Researchers found that older adults who regularly assessed their feelings, thoughts and behaviors improved their concentration. , problem-solving ability, and significantly improved memory than those who did not.
The research could be part of the path to one day reducing the risk of dementia through psychological treatments that help people form healthy thinking patterns.
“This is interesting because there is currently no effective prevention of dementia. Therefore, the identification of other protective factors can be very important to improve prospects,” adds the psychiatrist.

“Self-analysis is to step back and try not to be so harsh on yourself, actively evaluating your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. So when we feel down or have a problem, we try to think about how we can solve it instead of dwelling on these negative thinking styles and thinking about solutions.”
