Dr. of Medicine, certified dermatologist Leslie Baumann calls watermelon the most illogical of them. A high concentration of water in it can lead to puffiness around the eyes. However, compared to other fruits and berries, watermelon is low in sugar. Because of this, there is no glycation, a chemical reaction that disrupts the production of collagen and leads to the appearance of wrinkles.

At the same time, you should not give up other berries and fruits. For example, cherries, blueberries, and raspberries are rich in antioxidants that protect the skin from free radicals. Among fruits, pomegranate has a similar property due to the presence of polyphenols in it. In turn, orange and grapefruit contain vitamin C, which is indispensable for moisturizing the skin. From vegetables, it is worth paying attention to carrots. It contains vitamin A – one of the main active ingredients of retin-A. Yellow and green peppers, which contain an antioxidant called carotenoid, also reduce sensitivity to the sun. As a result, the appearance of fine lines and so-called “crow's feet” around the eyes is reduced.

Dermatologists call broccoli the leader among vegetables. It contains many vitamins useful for the skin, including A and C, which support the production of collagen. Broccoli also contains vitamin K, which speeds up the healing of bruises. It also fights dark circles under the eyes.

Beans contain a high level of zinc, which is famous for its healing properties in the fight against acne. Curly kale renews skin cells due to its high content of vitamin A. Local application of kale can also reduce the appearance of bruises, scars, stretch marks, and vascular stars.

At the same time, dermatologists emphasize that it is important to pay attention to natural yogurt and avoid flavored products. Dark chocolate will strengthen the skin due to a powerful antioxidant called flavanol.

Green tea also contains useful polyphenols, which remove toxins from the body and increase skin elasticity. In addition, dermatologists advise using it as an anti-inflammatory tonic for the treatment of acne. Also, external use of green tea will help heal wounds and scars.
