Divorce has a very bad effect on men's health

Official divorce poses the greatest threat to men's health. If they are divorced for more than 7 years in a row, the risk of heart attacks, senile dementia and early death increases.
Unhappy family life is a reason for heart attacks and constant stress, but divorce is no better. The study found that if men remain divorced for more than 7 years, their bodies have increased levels of inflammation.
This is a natural biological response to stress, which causes arteries to harden, heart attacks, strokes, tumors, dementia, and premature death.
Scientists from the University of Copenhagen conducted a study involving 4,800 people aged 48 to 62. They were interested in the long-term health effects of divorce. When women faced the end of a long-term relationship and lived alone for a long time, there was no increase in inflammation in their bodies.
This may be because middle-aged women, unlike men of their age, have many more friends who offer emotional support. They do not let stress affect their health.
But men led a much less healthy lifestyle after divorce. They had 17% higher levels of two blood markers linked to inflammation, interleukin-6 and C-reactive protein, compared to their peers in stable relationships. Evidence suggests that men are more dependent on women than women are, and that divorce is more dangerous for men.
