marigolds belong to those flowers that are always needed to grow on the country plot. Needless to say, there are quite a few good varieties. Tall up to 1 m tall and thin-leaved with small delicate flowers, they are all beautiful.
Benefits of marigolds
In addition to the fact that these flowers beautifully decorate the plot, they are also good helpers. Marigolds can repel pests, so feel free to plant them next to tomatoes, potatoes and other plants. The leaves and flowers of marigolds contain phytoncides, which have a characteristic smell for these flowers. In addition, there are three ways to use the remains of flower bushes at the end of autumn:
- mulching;
- humus ;
- liquid fertilizer.
In autumn, marigolds are pulled together with the roots. Then it is crushed a little with a shovel and dug up with soil. Can be sent to the compost pile. Another good way to use it is mulching the trunk circles of trees.
From marigolds, summer residents know how to prepare a useful liquid fertilizer. The flowers should be crushed, poured with water, covered and left to ferment for 15 days. When the solution darkens, it can be diluted with water and watered plants. The proportion for watering is 1 to 9, where most of it is clean water.
