Is there anyone who doesn't know how to cook dumplings? Some may even be outraged by such a question. What could be so difficult about throwing dumplings into salted water and boiling them? In simple things, banal mistakes are often made. Not every dumplings cooked to readiness are ideal in terms of preserving the shape and integrity of the dough. A sticky, high-calorie mass cannot be called dumplings.
How many minutes to cook dough products
Usually, it takes about 6-8 minutes for dumplings, vareniki, and khinkali to be cooked. It all depends on the composition of the dough. Please note that there is a big difference between store-bought and homemade dumplings. The thickness of the dough, the composition, the amount of filling – everything is different:
- For products made from custard dough, the cooking time after boiling water is 3-4 minutes;
- Dough with egg yolks is denser – it will take 7-10 minutes;
- Small dumplings are cooked for no more than 4-5 minutes;
- Unfrozen dumplings made from fresh dough are always cooked for 1-2 minutes less than frozen semi-finished products.
Delicious dumplings that have not been boiled in water look appetizing. Follow the recommended cooking time so that they turn out perfect every time. Enjoy!
