Doctors advise people with insomnia to snack on a banana

Experts say that bananas are an excellent snack before bed for people who have problems falling asleep and insomnia.
Doctors from the Sleep Charity organization (Great Britain) state: the quality of a night's sleep may depend on what a person eats shortly before it.
“Proper nutrition in the evening is definitely the key to a good night's rest. Some foods calm the brain and help you fall asleep quickly,” the experts cite.
Experts advised people with insomnia to snack on a banana. According to them, a banana eaten shortly before going to bed stimulates the production of key hormones that calm the brain and create the necessary relaxation for the body at that moment. In particular, the tryptophan contained in the fruit is responsible for the “switching on” of brain-calming hormones.
“Bananas are rich in magnesium and potassium, which can help relax both the muscles and the mind. Eat a whole banana or make a smoothie,” the doctors add.
They also recommend controlling caffeine and alcohol consumption for people with insomnia. Experts noted that many people do not give themselves an account of how much caffeine they consume in a day, and reminded that this stimulant is contained in tea, some carbonated drinks, chocolate, energy drinks and some painkillers.
