Doctors: Even dim light at night can harm the heart while you sleep

Doctors recommend sleeping in the dark, explaining that even dim lighting at night has a detrimental effect on the cardiovascular system.
Close the blinds, draw the curtains and turn off the world in the house before falling asleep. It is important for people to avoid night lighting – doctors claim that even dim light at night can harm health.
Studying the effects of lighting on people's bodies at night, experts found that under the influence of light, the autonomic nervous system is activated and the body goes into a state of heightened readiness – the heart rate increases, as well as the force with which the heart contracts and the speed with which blood enters the blood vessels. Meanwhile, at night, the heart should function in a more relaxed mode: heart rate, along with other cardiovascular parameters, should normally be lower at night than during the day.
Thus, nighttime light that stimulates the heart to work more actively, leads to its load, premature wear, say experts. Experts recommend sleeping in the dark, including closing the windows, preventing street light from entering the room.
