First, it is recommended to maintain the curvature of the lower back in a sitting position. This can be done even with a folded towel or a special pillow. Car seat cushions will also help if your back often hurts while driving.
The next step is to keep your hips and knees at right angles. Doctors recommend keeping both feet on the floor at your office desk, even if it's at home. If this is not the case, then it is worth getting a footrest or a stool. It is not recommended to cross your legs while sitting.
Office workers are advised to choose a good chair. It is best to use a hard chair with a high back and armrests, as sitting on a soft chair does not support the curve of your back.
But even on a chair with the best ergonomics, it is still recommended to sit as little as possible. If you work on a laptop, experts advise that you try to move it to a place where you can work while standing. Regular movement can help reduce back pain and further reduce the risk of additional pain.
Doctors point out that sitting and standing correctly will not help if back problems are aggravated by bed. Experts recommend sleeping on a hard mattress that does not sag. If necessary, you can put boards under it.
