Doctors explained what causes loud breathing in sleep
1
Doctors have established the cause of louder breathing in a dream It turns out that the matter is directly related to reflexes.
The volume of breathing is determined not only by the speed of the air flow, but also by the width of the trachea. During the day, it remains in good shape thanks to the reflex of the upper respiratory tract, which controls the inhalation and exhalation process.
That is why the air passes silently. During sleep, the action weakens, as a result of which there is an increase in the volume of breathing. In other words, the muscles that support the airways relax, provoking a narrowing of the trachea.
It is worth noting that snoring occurs when the narrowing is strong enough. Almost complete closure of the trachea provokes the occurrence of sleep apnea, when a person cannot breathe in his sleep.
Experts warn that apnea can cause serious diseases of the cardiovascular system, including stroke.
