A person who snores can work of the cardiovascular system may be disturbed, increasing the risk of fatal complications.
Doctors have issued a warning that snoring, which accompanies the sleep of some people, may turn out to be a deadly phenomenon. In particular, pulmonologist Maksym Novikov explained that people who snore can suffer from sleep apnea syndrome, in which breathing stops during sleep. During such stops, the brain is deprived of oxygen – conditions arise that can be compared to diving under water.
“At such moments, the level of oxygen in the blood decreases, and the level of carbon dioxide increases. These processes cause the brain to partially wake up in order to deal with anxiety. A person, as a rule, does not notice that he has woken up,” noted Novikov.
Another doctor, cardiologist Valentyna Baidina, added that due to lack of oxygen in snorers, the heart begins to suffer. Such oxygen deficiency can become a trigger for malfunctions in the functioning of the myocardium, stimulate the development of arrhythmia. These changes, in turn, contribute to the development of dangerous (especially fatal) disorders – for example, heart attack, stroke. In addition, the content of adrenaline in the blood increases, because the body, deprived of normal sleep, experiences stress – these processes lead to fluctuations in blood pressure. according to doctors, losing weight, changing sleeping position or pillows helps to solve the problem of snoring, but it is more correct to consult a doctor about it – especially if a person snores loudly and complains of feeling unwell during the day.
