Cucumbers are considered a useful product that, due to their low calorie content, helps control weight. Doctors advise not to abuse the vegetable, as the condition may worsen in the presence of certain diseases.
Cucumbers are 97% water and 3% minerals, folic and ascorbic acid, vitamins. The vegetable is able to saturate the body with water and improve tissue nutrition due to potassium. The product neutralizes harmful acidic compounds, removes cholesterol, normalizes the functioning of the circulatory system and thyroid gland, and prevents the formation of stones in the organs.
Cucumbers fed with nitrates and pesticides have a negative effect on health. A vegetable that can increase stomach acidity is contraindicated in the presence of gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. People with kidney diseases should not consume more than 200 grams of the product per day.
