In type 2 diabetes, the body does not produce enough insulin, which is responsible for sugar balance, or the cells do not respond to it. At the same time, the blood sugar level rises. Doctors have listed the warning signs of this condition.
Researchers identify four main symptoms of hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). Among them is a feeling of strong thirst, also known as polydipsia.
It is accompanied by temporary or long-lasting dryness in the mouth. The feeling of thirst persists regardless of how much water you drink.
Doctors also urge to pay attention to accelerated urination. In response to high blood sugar, the body tries to remove excess glucose with urine. This can amount to more than three liters per day.
An increased level of sugar can be indicated by severe fatigue and exhaustion that does not disappear during rest or sleep. Fatigue can be explained by the inability of the body to deliver glucose from the blood to the cells, which causes a lack of energy.
Another warning sign of high blood sugar, according to doctors, is a feeling of discomfort and irritation.
